Classic Shakshuka

This Golden Butter Bean Hummus is creamy, garlicky, and effortlessly delicious!

With just a handful of simple ingredients and a quick blend in the food processor, you’ll have a velvety, nutrient-packed dip in minutes. The hint of turmeric adds a golden glow and a subtle warmth, making it as beautiful as it is tasty. A drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of chilli flakes makes it irresistibly moreish.
Perfect for an easy snack, spread, or party dip!

Ingredients

  • 1 x 700g Jar Queen Butter Beans (Bold Beans are the best)

  • 3 tbsp Tahini

  • 2 Cloves Garlic minced

  • 4 tbsp EV Olive Oil (Extra for drizzling when finished)

  • 1 Lemon Juiced

  • 1 tsp Ground Turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin

  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika (optional, to add more depth)

  • 1/2 tsp Salt (adust to taste)

  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper

  • 4 tbsp Water (adjust for desired consistency)

  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Flakes (optional, for a hint of heat)

  • Fresh Parsley & Sesame Seeds for garnish


Preparation

Step 1


Prepare the ingredients:

  • Drain and rinse the butter beans.

  • Mince the garlic.

  • Juice the lemon.


Step 2


Blend the base:

  • In a food processor, add the butter beans, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, turmeric, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.


Step 3


Achieve the perfect texture:

  • Start blending and slowly drizzle in the olive oil while the processor is running.

  • Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency.


Step 4


  • Taste and adjust:

Check for seasoning and add more salt, lemon juice, or spices if needed.


Step 5


Serve and garnish:

  • Transfer to a serving bowl.

Drizzle with extra olive oil, sprinkle chili flakes (if using), and garnish with fresh parsley and sesame seeds.
