About the event
Join us for a foraging walk around Broadford Bay where Andrea will be guiding you along Broadford Bay, connecting with the plants, learning more about their gifts, and finding out how to craft our own healing medicines along the way. Â
During the walk Andrea will demonstrate how to make a beautiful spring tonic with apple cider vinegar and at least 8 different plants  found along our path. This tonic is a wonderful medicine for restoring vitality to the body after a long winter as it contains a bounty of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds.  Â
We will also be exploring what it means to forage with prayerfulness, reverence and  care for the land. Come with your enthusiasm, questions and wonderings.  This event is open to families. Please wear appropriate foot wear: hiking boots,  wellies or trainers with good tread. This event will still go ahead in the event of light rain so please where clothes to suit the weather. Â
If you would like to do some foraging during the event please bring plastic or paper bags. You might also want to bring a pair of scissors and some gardening gloves if you want to bring back some juicy nettles.  Â
Please meet in the car park opposite the Selkie shop.
NOTE:  Participants will not be creating their own tonic during this event but will learn the skills for making one at home with the plants foraged on the day. If you plan on making this tonic after the event, please source some raw organic apple cider vinegar, we sell it at The Selkie Collective!
